On Saturday, Lowndes County Sheriff’s investigators apprehended two teenagers from Fort Deposit who were suspected to be involved in a murder case in Montgomery.
On July 20, Sheriff Chris West made an announcement regarding the capture of two 16-year-old black males who were wanted for the murder of a Hispanic male in West Montgomery on July 18. Investigator Randell Johnson reported that a group of investigators successfully completed the arrest on Saturday afternoon.
Upon being charged with capital murder, the two suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and are currently being held without bond. According to Johnson, it’s highly probable that they will be tried as adults for their alleged crime.
According to Johnson, the murder took place at the recently opened QT gas station on West South Boulevard in Montgomery. The victim was a 21-year-old Hispanic male who was sitting inside his car when the young men allegedly killed him.
On Friday, Central Alabama Crimestoppers issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) following the shooting and killing of Hector Bamaca Yoc in the 1000 block of West South Boulevard. Upon recognizing the juveniles involved, Johnson contacted Crimestoppers representatives who connected him with the Montgomery Police Department investigator handling the case.
Johnson reported that a family member provided information on the whereabouts of one of the suspects to Fort Deposit Police Chief, Terry Steiner.
Johnson rallied the team and they set out to pick up one of the boys. The other juvenile’s mother got wind of the search and turned him in to the police department.
Early Thursday morning at approximately 12:45 a.m., the MPD and Fire Medics received a call regarding a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim had suffered fatal gunshot injuries and had already passed away.
