Man from Montgomery apprehended following a high-speed pursuit on an ATV

A man from Montgomery has been charged with a felony for leading the police on an ATV chase on Saturday afternoon.

Matthew Israel of Montgomery was spotted driving recklessly on an ATV near Atlanta Highway and Coliseum Boulevard in Montgomery by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Saturday at around 6 p.m. Despite the police’s efforts to pull him over, Israel failed to stop, leading to a brief pursuit through several neighborhoods. Ultimately, the chase came to an end when Israel’s ATV collided with a culvert, rendering it inoperable.

After being accused of felony attempting to elude and reckless endangerment, Isreal was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility. His bond was set at $16,500.
