OPELIKA POST – A crash involving just one car happened around 12:20 p.m. On Tuesday, July 18, a man from Montgomery died. Jefferson J. Houston, who was 34 years old, died when the 2017 Toyota Tacoma he was driving went off the road and hit a tree. At the scene, Houston’s death was confirmed. The accident happened near the 29-mile sign on Interstate 85 in Macon County, about 10 miles west of Tuskegee. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are still looking into the case, so there is nothing else to report.
