In Montgomery, Alabama, a man was tragically killed by a gunshot. However, the Montgomery Police Department has acted swiftly and apprehended a suspect in connection with the murder.
Police and fire medics responded to a distress call at around 5:20 p.m. on the 200 block of West Patton Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, they were met with a grim sight – the victim, Andrew Smith Jr., aged 62 and hailing from Montgomery, had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Sadly, he was pronounced dead on the spot.
After thorough investigations, authorities were able to detain Anthony Jones, a 58-year-old Montgomery resident who was found at the crime scene. He is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Detention Facility and has been charged with murder.
