Breaking News: The fourth person detained in the Riverfront brawl

Four individuals have been arrested in relation to the Montgomery Riverfront altercation that occurred on Saturday night, according to the Montgomery police.

Mary Todd, a 21-year-old woman, turned herself in on Thursday and is currently being held in the municipal jail. Earlier in the week, Zachary Shipman, a 25-year-old man, and Allen Todd, a 23-year-old man, turned themselves in, and on Tuesday, 48-year-old Richard Roberts also surrendered to the police.

All four individuals are facing charges of third-degree assault, which is considered a misdemeanor. The victims of the assault have been identified by the police as Damien Pickett, co-captain of the Harriott II riverboat, and a 16-year-old male. The teenager was allegedly struck by Roberts.

Reggie Gray, a 42-year-old man, is still being urged to turn himself in for further questioning. At a press conference earlier in the week, the police shared that Gray was seen striking people with a folding chair in a video that was widely circulated on social media. The brawl took place near the Harriott II boat dock.

Police Chief Darryl Albert explained that the incident began at 7 PM on Saturday when the riverboat, carrying 227 individuals, was preparing to dock.

A private pontoon boat was occupying the spot, which prompted Pickett to use a loudspeaker to ask the occupants to move. The people on the private boat responded with obscenities, and shortly after, Pickett was taken by a smaller boat to the dock.

The altercation began at that point, with several individuals attacking Pickett. Thirteen individuals were detained for questioning and interviews by the police.

They were released with the understanding that charges were forthcoming, according to Albert. Pickett sustained injuries and was treated at a hospital, but he was the only person harmed.
