Another person wants to be mayor of Montgomery, so he or she has put their name in the running.
Barrett Gilbreath, a local businessman and entrepreneur, announced his candidacy for mayor on Thursday.
Barrett Gilbreath grew up in Montgomery, where he went to Jefferson Davis High School. He then went to Auburn University and got his degree there.
Gilbreath says he wants to keep people in the city by making it safer and giving people more chances.
Gilbreath said:
“I’m running for Mayor because I believe we have lost focus on the basic principles needed for Montgomery to reach its potential,” “Fixing these problems starts with true leadership; the ability to listen, to empathize, and to unite. I will foster collaboration, creativity, and transparency. Montgomery is a city with limitless potential, and it’s an extremely important city in our nation’s history. It’s time to empower and grow our entrepreneurs, recruit, and retain in our business community, revitalize our infrastructure, support our first responders, and invest further in modernizing our education. Together, we will harness the unique strengths of our diverse population, ensuring no one is left behind and provide future generations a place they are proud to call home.”
Barrett is married to Ashley Gilbreath, and the two of them have three children.
Marcus McNeal and Victorrus Felder are also running to be mayor of Montgomery, along with Mayor Steven Reed.
On August 22, voters will choose who will run the city of Montgomery.
Fresh Headline Emerges from MONTGOMERY – Man shot in Silver Spring apartment, dead
We must vote out major reed who is very raciest and allowed our historical fountain downtown to be painted with BLM crap and makes me furious . That’s needs to be erased Immediately . We need a mayor who is a real Christian and will uphold the Bible and Gods laws first and foremost . I was appalled when I say the painting on the fountain downtown and I wanted to spray paint over it myself many times . Please do something more for our city the Capital of Alabama which is a leading state in the USA . Not afraid to post . Love my country . My husband died last year bc of his service in Vietnam Nam and exposure to Agent Orange. A brain tumor and stage 4 cancer finally took his life after only knowing he was sick for 2 months . I believe God is in charge and we will get our country back bc evil is being exposed . It’s only a matter of time so let’s keep working diligently to get our country back !
