MONTGOMERY, Ala. (mocobizscene)– Local police today announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting incident that rocked the city’s peace over the weekend.
The Montgomery law enforcement authorities have apprehended a suspect connected with the shooting murder of a young woman aged 22 that occurred on Thursday morning.
The suspect, Elijah Jackson, 23, a Montgomery resident, is presently facing murder charges tied to the death of Breniesha Snow, who also resided in Montgomery.
Police and medical personnel from Montgomery responded to emergency calls from Amesbury Drive’s 4000 block at around 6:25 a.m., reporting gunshot injuries. Upon arrival, they found Snow with a potentially fatal gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Montgomery Police Department (MPD) stated that they identified Jackson as a possible suspect and charged him with Snow’s murder within the first hour of initiating their investigation. Jackson is currently detained at the Montgomery County Detention Facility, awaiting trial without the possibility of bail.
The cause behind the homicide is still uncertain, and an active investigation continues.
