An 18-year-old faces charges for a homicide in Montgomery that took place in an area that has experienced several shootings

Last week’s shootings on Covered Bridge Drive had left the Montgomery community in fear. However, Montgomery police have now announced a breakthrough in one of the cases, with the arrest of a suspect.

An 18-year-old named My’Quan Morris was taken into custody on July 19th for capital murder and first-degree robbery. He is currently being held without bail at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

During the early hours of July 16, Morris allegedly killed 20-year-old Kavone Mosquera and injured another man in a shooting incident.

According to law enforcement officials, there was another shooting incident that occurred in the same block later that afternoon, which resulted in two other men being shot.

On the same night, there was another fatality just a few streets away on Bridle Path Lane.

The authorities have not disclosed any potential links between the recent shootings. They have confirmed that they are still actively investigating the incidents.
