7 people arrested after a police chase that ends at Sam’s Club in MONTGOMERY

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Montgomery Police Department says that after a police chase finished Saturday afternoon, seven suspects were caught and each is being charged.

Around 5:40 p.m., police officers in Montgomery tried to pull over a stolen car near the intersection of Coliseum Boulevard and Northern Boulevard. The driver wouldn’t stop, so the cops gave chase.

During the chase, MPD said that the stolen car was involved in a two-car crash near Eastern Boulevard and East Shirley Lane, but no one was injured. MPD said that the stolen car kept running away until it reached the 1000 block of Eastern Boulevard.

Further, Montgomery police officers and detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office went to the scene.

Police say the suspects left the car and ran into and around a business, which was quickly put on lockdown. MPD didn’t say what business it was, but WSFA 12 News teams went to the Sam’s Club Warehouse on Eastern Boulevard because there was a lot of police there.

Police haven’t said who the seven suspects are, but they did say that several guns were found. Neither customers nor workers were hurt during the event.

An investigation is underway.
