DOTHAN, Ala. – According to reports from the New York Post over the weekend, a businessman from South Georgia, Robert Shiver, who was allegedly targeted in a murder plot, hired a private investigator to track his wife, Lindsay Shiver, a former pageant queen from Dothan, whom he suspected of infidelity.
Shiver, along with her 28-year-old lover Terrance Bethel and Faron Newbold, are facing charges for the attempted murder of Robert Shiver. Although Bethel and Newbold are currently free on bail, Shiver remains behind bars in Nassau with a bail of $100,000.
Robert Shiver confronted Bethel after receiving photos of his wife with him, sarcastically thanking him for confirming his suspicions. Reports of the couple’s marital issues have been circulating in the media after authorities discovered the murder plot during the investigation of a burglary at the bar where Bethel worked.
Lindsay Shiver was crowned Miss Houston County in 2005 and finished second in the National Peanut Festival pageant. Her husband, on the other hand, played college football at Auburn as a team captain before briefly playing for the Atlanta Falcons after his 2008 graduation.
Despite reports that Lindsay Shiver will be posting bail this week, she is required to remain in the Bahamas.
