Trump organizes a $100,000-per-person fundraiser to assist Giuliani with legal expenses

Former President Donald Trump held a prestigious fundraiser for Rudy Giuliani, the former New York Mayor, at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club on Thursday evening. The event, which cost $100,000 per plate, was organized to help Giuliani with his increasing legal expenses.

Giuliani, a close confidant of former President Trump who previously acted as his attorney, is currently grappling with a multitude of legal challenges, including fines, sanctions, legal fees, and damages. These stem from his efforts to aid Trump in overturning the results of the 2020 presidential election, among other cases. In fact, he was recently indicted in Georgia alongside Trump and 17 other individuals for allegedly participating in a far-reaching conspiracy to undermine the democratic process after Trump’s defeat to Biden in the election. The Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, has been vocal in her allegations against Giuliani and the others involved.

During a recent radio interview, Andrew Giuliani, son of Giuliani, shared that the fundraising event was projected to bring in over $1 million for his father’s campaign. Additionally, he mentioned that Trump has agreed to host a second event in the near future at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

During his appearance on WABC radio, he expressed his appreciation for the assistance, stating that it would be incredibly beneficial. However, he also acknowledged that it would not be sufficient to overcome the challenges they were facing.

A committee has been established by him in order to raise funds for his father’s cause. The committee is named the Giuliani Defense PAC. Additionally, his allies have also been reaching out to potential donors to contribute to what they refer to as The Rudy Giuliani Freedom Fund.

During an interview on CNN Thursday night, Brian Tevis, who is currently serving as Giuliani’s representative in Georgia, voiced his belief that the former mayor is seeking to raise as much funds as possible. Tevis emphasized the importance of financial support, stating that it will be crucial for their efforts moving forward.

Last month, a federal judge found Giuliani responsible for defamation in a lawsuit filed by two election workers from Georgia who claimed that he had falsely accused them of fraud. If a trial takes place, the women could be awarded substantial damages, in addition to the legal fees that Giuliani has already been instructed to pay, which amount to tens of thousands of dollars.

He has resorted to various means to earn money, including selling autographed 9/11 shirts and promoting sandals sold by election denier Mike Lindell. In addition, he has recently joined Cameo, a platform where famous personalities create short videos for monetary gain.

Back in July, he decided to sell his Manhattan apartment, which he listed for $6.5 million.

Giuliani found himself in hot water last year when a judge threatened him with imprisonment due to a financial disagreement with his third ex-wife. The former mayor has since claimed to be making headway in paying off the debt, which his ex-wife reported to be over $260,000.

Last May, a female employee of Giuliani filed a lawsuit against him, claiming that he owed her almost $2 million in unpaid wages. Additionally, she accused him of sexual coercion, which Giuliani has vehemently denied.

Throughout the legal proceedings, his legal team has consistently referred to his financial struggles as a contributing factor.
