The Goldsmith Family Believes 20-Year-Old L’akira Was Kidnapped in 2018

On November 27, 2018, L’akira Dajour Goldsmith and her boyfriend were following their usual routine. He came to pick her up from her home on Narrow Lane Road in Montgomery, Alabama, and later dropped her off. L’akira’s grandmother saw her getting out of her boyfriend’s car, but L’akira never came inside the house, leaving her grandmother waiting in vain. Despite the normalcy of the day, L’akira’s disappearance has left her family with unanswered questions and a deep sense of concern.

L’akira, a 20-year-old, went missing when she didn’t return home. Her family searched the apartment complex and was informed by the maintenance man that he had allowed her to use his home around 2:00 a.m. According to The Charley Project, the last time he saw her was when she was using his phone to speak with someone. However, upon his return, L’akira had vanished, and the phone was left on the steps. It is believed that she was heading to North Montgomery to visit a friend when she disappeared.

Lakira has remained out of sight and has not made any communication with anyone since then.

A Mother Makes A Passionate Plea

According to her mother, Marchelle Goldsmith, Lakira Pig Goldsmith is a kind-hearted and sociable person who has a knack for brightening up rooms. In an interview with the Montgomery Advertiser, Marchelle shared that her daughter was always eager to lend a helping hand and was beloved by many for her sweet and caring nature. Despite struggling with severe asthma, Lakira refused to let it hinder her from looking out for others and making friends. As her mother puts it, “She’s just a sweet and caring person – always wanted to look out for others, even when she was sick. She has severe asthma and it’d be hard for her to breathe most of the time, but she didn’t let that stop her.”

L’akira’s family grew concerned when her social media accounts stopped being updated since she was known to be active on these platforms. At the time of her disappearance, L’akira’s son was just a toddler. Her family firmly believes that she would never abandon her child without contacting anyone. Despite the passing of time, her loved ones, including her mother and sister, are still actively posting flyers at local businesses in Montgomery and surrounding areas, hoping that someone might have information on her whereabouts.

Marchelle did everything she could to spread the word about her missing daughter, L’akira. She hung up posters in service stations, grocery stores, and any place that allowed her to do so. However, despite her efforts, the investigation hasn’t gained much momentum, and there have been no new leads or developments that would define a search area, according to Montgomery Police Capt. Regina Duckett. Marchelle fears that her daughter may have been kidnapped. As she told Alabama News, “It’s been some time, and we still don’t have any answers.”
