Tori Kelly is being hospitalized for blood clots after passing out at a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night, according to numerous media sites.
According to a source close to Kelly, the 30-year-old singer is having treatment for blood clots located around her lungs and legs, as first reported by TMZ. Doctors are also investigating whether she has blood clots around her heart.
Before passing out, the singer apparently noted her heart was racing really fast. According to a source close to the artist, she was “out for a while” before being taken to the hospital.
Kelly’s pals chose not to call an ambulance for her so she wouldn’t be sent to a hospital in the downtown area, and instead, she was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of L.A.’s top-rated clinics.
Kelly is currently in the intensive care unit, according to an unidentified source, and has been in and out of consciousness throughout her hospitalization.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Kelly was last seen on social media on Sunday afternoon, when she posted a motivational Instagram story with the caption, “Happy Sunday! Jesus loves you so much.”
André Murillo, Kelly’s husband, has not publicly spoken on her current health situation.
As a teenager, the singer rose to prominence after posting singing videos on YouTube. She later appeared on the ninth season of American Idol. Unbreakable Smile, her debut album, was released in 2015 and yielded two popular successes, “Nobody Love” and “Should’ve Been Us.”
The EP “Tori” by Kelly is set to come out on July 28.
