A teenager from Jefferson City sustains severe injuries in a crash on Highway 63.

A teenager from Jefferson City was airlifted to University Hospital following a collision on Highway 63 in Maries County. The incident was captured by Regan Mertz/KRCG.

On Saturday evening, a crash on Highway 63 in Maries County left a teenager from Jefferson City with serious injuries.

According to the official crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 6:00 p.m., Blake Lansford, who is 19 years old, was behind the wheel of a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 traveling on southbound Highway 63, approximately three miles north of Vienna.

As the vehicle approached a curve, it encountered a mechanical issue that resulted in it veering off the road toward the left side.

After colliding with the car, it hit several other objects including a fence, a communications hub, and ultimately a tree.

After sustaining serious injuries, Lansford was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia for medical attention.
