DPD charges a Dothan man with robbery after he stole items and injured a Store employee

DOTHAN, Ala – Officers responded to a robbery incident in the 1900 Block of South Oates Street at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11.

According to Dothan Police, Jonathan Gunter had entered the shop earlier that night and began concealing products in his clothing. When an employee noticed this, they attempted to stop Gunter before he left the store, but the employee was pushed out of the way, and Gunter fled.

According to police, the employee chased Gunter down in the parking lot but was beaten, and Gunter fled on foot.

According to police, when cops arrived, they brought out K9-Units and were able to track Gunter down and find him in the bushes behind an adjacent company.

Gunter, 37, was arrested and charged with one crime of Robbery Third Degree, with a bond set at $15,000.

The employee was not injured as a result of the occurrence.
