Pot stench, vagrants and a failing city — there’s too much rot in NYC

The city of New York, once known as a bustling metropolis, has lost its charm in recent times.

As you wander around New York City, from the East Side to the West Side and all around the town, it’s hard not to notice the pungent smell of marijuana. Vagrants lie on the sidewalk, while women in revealing shorts leave food remains in their wake. Trash is scattered everywhere, and cockroaches and rats are a common sight. Many stores are empty, and some are boarded up. The cost of living in the city, from taxes to prices, continues to rise. Even worse, a Long Island politician who has admitted to lying is seeking re-election to Congress. To make matters worse, bicyclists often ride the wrong way and put law-abiding citizens, like myself, in danger. Schools are struggling to keep up with overwhelming demand and are understaffed.

According to recent reports, there are concerns about individuals who do not speak English, lack financial resources, have unknown backgrounds, and potentially transport drugs. Additionally, some of these individuals may have unhealthy lifestyles and pose a danger to public safety. These issues have led to residents relocating and limited school bus services, as well as fears of entering certain areas due to vagrants, sick individuals, and the mentally ill. Furthermore, the once vibrant Broadway scene is now struggling, and there is growing frustration over officials who have allowed cop killers to go free.

It’s a flee market

The cost of living in the city is at an all-time high, and the rental prices are skyrocketing. Guns are prevalent everywhere, and knives are the weapon of choice in other areas. Tragically, killings and stabbings have become a daily occurrence, and anti-Semitism is on the rise. Many buildings and churches are empty, and public safety has become a significant concern. Sadly, President Biden seems to be struggling, and Vice President Kamala Harris appears unaware of the border crisis. Additionally, the police force has decreased, and the mass transit system is in shambles. Furthermore, theaters and department stores are closing, and English is becoming a second language. The traffic is unbearable, and the healthcare system is struggling to keep up with the demand.

It’s a bleak picture – doctors are leaving, family businesses are shutting down, and the middle class is disappearing. Finding a parking spot is a challenge, unemployment is high and wages are low. Homelessness is rampant, and construction is so overwhelming that the LIE feels like a parking lot. To make matters worse, there’s a lack of welfare programs for seniors and the mentally ill. It’s a tough reality, and the middle class is bearing the brunt of it.

If you’re not a fan of Giuliani, who rose to prominence by tackling the issue of squeegee guys terrorizing motorists, or Donald, who promises to clean up the migrant crisis, then you’re probably not a fan of Dragg Bragg either – and you’re not alone in that sentiment.

Ah, the Big Apple. The city that never sleeps. The place that everyone dreams of visiting. But what about those who have lived in New York for years? Where should they go now? Perhaps a small town like Whitefish, Montana or Monowi, Nebraska? Or how about Golconda, Illinois? It’s all about finding a new place to call home.

Off track

Once upon a time, there was a hardworking housekeeper named Eva. Her loyalty, devotion, and honesty were unparalleled. She was a legitimate immigrant from Mexico who came to the country with proper documentation and applied for citizenship through legal means. Eva swore allegiance to the flag and made a living through her tireless work ethic.

One morning, she was traveling alone by subway to meet me when a terrifying incident occurred. As she descended the station stairs, an unknown man behind her suddenly pushed her with great force, causing her to tumble down the rough, uncarpeted steps. Despite the shock and pain, she bravely managed to make her way to me, and we immediately took care of her injuries.

Bless this mess

As we walk down the city streets, we can’t help but notice the increasing number of people who seem to be struggling to find their place here. We’re all in this together, facing the same challenges, feeling scared and worried about our finances, safety, health, and the future of our loved ones. It’s not uncommon to come across a person lying on the ground, in front of a luxurious Park Avenue building, forcing us to step over their motionless body. We wait anxiously for the authorities to arrive and take care of them.

As American citizens, we expect our elected officials to protect us from harm and uphold the law. However, it’s disheartening to see that some politicians seem to be more concerned with their own interests than the safety and well-being of their constituents. It’s unacceptable that hardworking, taxpaying, and patriotic Americans risk being victims of crime while their elected officials turn a blind eye. As the saying goes, “Today’s mugger is one who steals your money without getting elected.” We deserve better from our leaders and should hold them accountable for their actions, or lack thereof.

As veteran inhabitants of NYC, we may wonder where our next destination should be. Perhaps Chillicothe or Yuma?
