The New York Police Department (NYPD) is requesting assistance from the public to locate a person connected to an attempted robbery that took place in the 115 Precinct on Wednesday, September 6th.
At around 5:00 p.m., a distressing incident took place at the intersection of 100 Street and 32 Avenue. A 55-year-old woman became the victim of a snatching when an unknown male on a moped grabbed her necklace abruptly. Fortunately, the victim managed to retrieve her necklace, but the situation escalated when the assailant got off the moped and brandished a firearm, demanding her other possessions. The victim cried out for help, which caused the perpetrator to hastily mount the moped again and flee towards 99 Street, heading westbound on 32 Avenue.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the incident.
According to the reports, the individual involved in the incident is a young male, around 25 years of age, with a height of 5’6″ and a medium build. He had a dark complexion and was wearing a black helmet along with a dark face covering. Additionally, he had on a black t-shirt, gray shorts, and black sneakers. The suspect was reportedly riding a black moped.
