A Dothan man is being held on $1.5 million bond after being accused with murder in Dothan on Sunday.
At around 5:05 p.m., Dothan police officers arrived to a shooting in the 800 block of South Appletree Street.
When they arrived, they discovered the body of Keith Atkins, 61, of Dothan, with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators apprehended Arthur Lee Wilson Jr., 53, in connection with the shooting.
Police suspect the two, who both lived at the area, were involved in a physical confrontation soon before the shooting. Police said they found multiple guns in Wilson’s bedroom, two of which were verified stolen. One of the guns is suspected to have been used in the altercation.
Wilson is charged with one count of murder and two charges of receiving stolen property in the second degree.
