Lithium-ion batteries may have started Davidson Avenue fire; 4 injured

On Sunday, a fire broke out at an apartment building on Davidson Avenue, causing injuries to three residents and a firefighter. The cause of the fire is believed to be linked to lithium-ion batteries.

According to the FDNY, the ignition of the fire occurred on the fourth floor of 1775 Davidson Ave. slightly after 9 a.m. The fire was contained and brought under control by 10:48 a.m.

The FDNY has asked for a hazmat team to be dispatched to the location in order to investigate the lithium-ion batteries present on site.
