According to sources and police, a friend discovered the bodies of a 37-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter inside their home on New York Avenue in Little Haiti around 4:30 p.m. The friend went to check on the family as they had not been heard from since Friday.
According to a police source, the scene was described as extremely gruesome and bloody.
On Friday morning, the police were called to the scene after a nearby neighbor, Steve Schor, dialed 911 upon hearing screams. However, despite their best efforts, there was no response from whoever was inside the location.
As Schor, 38, recounted the harrowing experience, he vividly recalled the chaos that erupted in the middle of the night. “My wife and I were jolted awake by loud screaming, banging, and dogs whining,” he said. “Despite the police knocking on our door, they received no response.”
