Late on Sunday, a tragic incident occurred in Queens where a 45-year-old man lost his life after being stabbed during a bar fight with a stranger. He was left bleeding on the sidewalk, and unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. The details of the altercation are still unclear, but it is a grim reminder of the dangers of violence and the importance of staying vigilant and safe in public spaces.
According to authorities, a violent altercation erupted outside Kelly’s Pub on 41st Avenue in Flushing shortly before 10 p.m. The tumultuous scene quickly escalated and spilled out into the surrounding area.
According to authorities, Jason Schuler, 39, who was believed to be in a rivalry with him, was found with six stab wounds to his back just around the corner on Main Street.
Ortiz and the other man were rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens for medical attention after the incident. Unfortunately, Ortiz, who resided just a few blocks away from the bar, was declared dead upon arrival.
According to the police, Schuler, who resides just a couple of blocks away, has been accused of murder and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges were filed against him on Monday.
