This coming fall, the former Tara Tai location at 9811 Washingtonian Blvd Suite L9 in Gaithersburg is being filled by a new tenant.
A new concept called Charley Prime will be housed next to the AMC Dine-In Theater building in the Peterson Companies-owned RIO Development.
According to reports, it will be a “grown-up” spinoff of the Bar Charley restaurant in the Dupont Circle neighborhood in D.C. The people behind Bar Charley include Gordon Banks, chef Adam Harvey and Jackie Greenbaum.
Greenbaum can trace her early restaurant history to downtown Silver Spring including the former Jackie’s Restaurant and still in business Quarry House Tavern. They also own restaurants Little Coco’s and El Chucho.
Charley Prime will set its focus on a steakhouse and pasta concept but with a broader menu and space than its predecessor, the new space will include an indoor and outdoor patio in an upscale fashion with more than 100 seats. The restaurant is set to open in October this year.
