During the early hours of Saturday morning, a fire broke out at a McDonald’s in Kansas City, Missouri. Unfortunately, one firefighter was injured while responding to the scene.
At approximately 11:10 am, the Kansas City Fire Department received a call regarding a fast food restaurant situated in the 1300 block of West 103rd Street. Battalion Chief Mike Hopkins, who serves as the spokesperson for the department, confirmed that fire crews were dispatched to the location to handle the situation.
Upon arrival, the crews were able to identify the presence of smoke emanating from the roof line of the McDonald’s establishment.
Upon initial inspection, it was discovered that the fire had originated in the kitchen vicinity, specifically near or beneath the fryer.
The flames were eventually subdued by the fire crews who had to use several extinguishers to put out the fire. Unfortunately, one of the firefighters sustained minor injuries during the incident and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The Health Department of Kansas City, Missouri, took charge of the clean-up and reopening procedures of the restaurant.
It is currently unknown what caused the fire.
