Alabama prison officer charged with drug sales

According to court documents, a Staton Prison guard has been charged with the possession and sale of 170 grams of marijuana within the facility.

According to officials, a woman by the name of Laneitria Hasberry, aged 29, was caught bringing marijuana into the prison at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday. She has been accused of receiving $1,000 for this illegal act.

According to court documents, Hasberry has been incarcerated in the Elmore County jail on a bond of $15,000. The charges against her include promoting prison contraband and utilizing her official position for personal benefit.

Unfortunately, we did not receive any response from the Alabama Department of Corrections despite our request for comment before publishing this article.
