A 22-year-old man was sentenced to 35 years in prison for a 2017 DC murder and alleged gang involvement

A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for a murder that occurred in Washington D.C. back in 2017. The man was also allegedly involved with a gang at the time of the murder.

New details have surfaced regarding the body and submerged vehicle found in a pond at Johns Island. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has released information on the discovery.

On Thursday, a young man of 22 years was handed a 35-year prison sentence for his involvement in a criminal street gang and his role in a murder that occurred in Washington, D.C. in 2017.

During the incident at the courtyard, Carl Hardy, who is only 24 years old, unfortunately got hit by a bullet. According to officials, the group, including Williams, fired over 30 rounds and then fled the scene.

After being rushed to the hospital for treatment, Hardy unfortunately could not recover from his injuries and passed away about a month later on October 1st.

Following the untimely death of Hardy, the authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Williams, accusing him of the murder. It was later discovered that there was a second shooter involved, Quincy Garvin, who was also convicted at trial, as stated by the DOJ.

The date set for Garvin’s sentencing is September 29, 2023.
