A 19-year-old man was injured while shooting leaves in Sunset Park

SUNSET PARK, NY – On Thursday, just before 5:30 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot at Fourth Avenue and 59th Street in Sunset Park.

The neighborhood is known for its busy streets and is close to a metro station and a playground.

The victim was shot in the left leg once. According to witnesses, the victim and the shooter had a verbal argument prior to the incident. The case is currently being investigated by police.

Both the victim and the suspect had previously caused problems in the area, according to local shop owners Edwin Hernandez and his father Robert.

There has been no further information disclosed about the origin of the argument.
