Two people were killed in separate weekend shootings in Montgomery

Two men had been killed in separate incidents in Montgomery over the weekend.

Celso Martinez, 46, and Fernando Edwards, 27, were named as victims by Montgomery police on Monday.

Police and fire medics rushed to the 4900 block of Plaza Drive at 4 a.m. Friday on a report of a person shot.

Martinez was transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday, said to Maj. Saba Coleman.

There has been no further information given about the horrific shooting.

Edwards arrived at a hospital injured shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The incident occurred in the 600 block of North Pass Road, according to investigators.

Coleman did not provide any other details about Edwards’ death.

In either case, no arrests have been made.
