Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign receives support from Alabama Democratic delegates

Alabama’s Democratic delegates are currently reevaluating their strategy for the 2024 election, as President Biden has recently announced his decision to withdraw from the race. This news has caused a shift in the political landscape and has prompted the need for a new plan of action moving forward.

Vice President Kamala Harris has garnered support from many individuals following Biden’s endorsement on Sunday. Despite this, there are those who believe that an open convention is still a possibility.

According to Dr. Joe L. Reed, Chairman of the Alabama Democratic Conference, the country and the world suffered a great loss when Biden, who possessed a great vision and extensive knowledge, did not win. However, he believes that with Vice President Kamala Harris, the American people will still be in good hands and will be just as well off as they would have been if Biden had won.

According to Senator Robert Stewart (D-Selma), even though he was disappointed by President Biden’s choice, it is crucial to back Harris’ campaign.

According to Stewart, “During her time as Vice President, she has shown significant growth.”

According to Senator Kirk Hatcher (D-Montgomery), supporting Harris and uniting behind her is crucial to avoid any chaos at the convention this year.

Hatcher stated that they are all in agreement when it comes to supporting the Vice President to avoid a chaotic convention.

According to State Rep. Juandalynn Givan (D-Birmingham), Harris is fully prepared to take on the challenge and will back her campaign, regardless of whether an open convention is held or not.

According to Givan, the Democratic Party nominee should possess a range of skills, including the ability to energize and retain the support of Black women voters. In her opinion, Kamala Harris fits the bill perfectly because of her intelligence, education, beauty, and preparedness for the role.

Chicago will be the venue for the Democratic National Convention scheduled to take place from August 19 to 22.
