An Alabama man was arrested after an unresponsive woman was discovered in his home; he waited an hour before being arrested.

A woman was discovered unresponsive in a home in Alabama on July 26, 2023. The authorities arrested Gary Amerson, 46 years old, after an investigation.

The article provided additional details by stating that Amerson has been charged with several crimes, including two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a pistol by a violent felon, drug trafficking, distribution of a controlled substance, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony murder for the death of the victim.

Amerson told officers (Limestone Cty) he administered a dose of Narcan to the victim, ate a bowl of cereal, and called 911, 20 minutes after discovering her unresponsive. During the investigation, police discovered that Amerson waited over an hour before calling 911. A search of the house occurred and Amerson was arrested.

He is being held on a $110,000 bond, and a hearing for Aniah’s Law will be held later.
