Alabama ( MOCOBIZSCENE) – Court records indicate that a man who was previously a Catholic priest in Alabama has tied the knot with an 18-year-old woman he traveled to Europe with during the summer.
According to records obtained by AL.com from the Mobile County Probate Court, Alex Crow, aged 30, and Taylor Victoria Harrison, aged 18, tied the knot last Friday.
According to The Associated Press, a marriage certificate was filed on Monday in Mobile County. The license indicated that the woman had turned 18 years old last June.
As per AL.com, Harrison and Crow had a connection even before they started working together. Harrison was a student at McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile where Crow was invited as a guest lecturer. The duo developed a bond and later went on a four-month trip together to explore Europe during the summer.
On Wednesday, Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi of the Archdiocese of Mobile issued a statement in response to the marriage of Crow and Harrison.
According to AL.com, Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi declared in July that Alex Crow was suspended and forbidden to act, dress, or present himself as a priest. In August, Archbishop Rodi further stated that he believed there was no path for Alex Crow to return to the priesthood. The statement also mentioned that the Vatican would officially remove Crow as a member of the clergy.
According to the AP, the Mobile County District Attorney declared that an investigation into potential criminal misconduct between the two parties has been concluded earlier this month.
