A Utica woman has been apprehended by the New York State Police for allegedly stealing a car from an auto dealership. The woman reportedly convinced the staff that she was only test-driving the vehicle before driving away with it.
Officials from a dealership in Richfield Springs, NY, Otsego County, recently reached out to Troopers regarding a peculiar incident. The dealership reported that Theresa Price had expressed interest in taking a car out for a test drive and having it inspected by her mechanic, who happened to be located nearby.
According to the authorities, the incident occurred on Thursday. On the other hand, the dealership asserts that the woman had not yet returned as of Friday.
According to reports, Price, who is 48 years old, was notified to the authorities. It is said that he traveled along I-90 on the NYS Thruway and was eventually found with the vehicle several hours away in Pembroke, NY. The police were informed about the incident.
Located in Genesee County, Pembroke, NY is situated about 30 miles to the east of Buffalo.
After being charged with Grand Larceny in the third degree, which is classified as a class D felony, Price was apprehended and subsequently brought back to Richfield Springs. The authorities then transported him to the Otsego County Jail where he was held in custody.
