Mocobizscene- A sergeant from the Broward Sheriff’s Office was apprehended on Tuesday at Miami International Airport by Customs and Border Protection officials for possessing drugs, according to authorities. Upon arrival at the airport, Bryan Vidal Lorenzo, a 35-year-old resident of Tamarac, was found to be in possession of suspected MDMA, as stated in his arrest report.
According to Miami-Dade police, CBP officers alerted them about discovering the drugs in Lorenzo’s luggage, specifically inside a pocket of his ski pants.
Lorenzo was taken into custody in Florida for possessing a controlled substance and bringing it into the state. The Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson stated on Wednesday that Sgt. Bryan Lorenzo joined the department on June 3, 2013. As of today, he has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
Lorenzo remained tight-lipped when approached by Local 10 News as he exited the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He had recently secured his release by posting a bond amounting to $5,000. The judge in Miami-Dade also mandated that he must participate in drug counseling.
