WASHINGTON- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is currently investigating a recent incident involving multiple gunshots fired in Northwest D.C. Specifically, the shots were reported along New York Avenue and North Capitol Street.
At around 2 p.m., the MPD received a report of gunshots being fired. According to witnesses, there was a series of rapid gunfire, followed by cars quickly leaving the area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
47 evidence markers dotted the scene, with a significant number of them indicating the presence of shell casings. The gunfire struck several nearby buildings and a power meter. The on-scene investigation concluded, and New York Ave NW was reopened to traffic at approximately 4:15 pm.
