Mid-20s man dies after seizure in Manhattan courthouse police custody

Mocobizscene-  A heartbreaking incident occurred in New York when a 25-year-old man tragically passed away due to a fatal seizure shortly before his scheduled court appearance. This devastating news has been confirmed by authorities and court records.

Leron Jones, a 25-year-old, suffered from a seizure at around 6 a.m. on Friday while being held in police custody at 100 Centre Street. This incident occurred at the Manhattan Criminal Court and NYPD Manhattan Central Booking. While waiting for medical personnel, Jones experienced a cardiac arrest and the police quickly administered CPR.

Jones was quickly taken to New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital by EMS. Tragically, officials have confirmed that he was pronounced dead upon his arrival.

According to court records, Jones, a Bronx resident, has been charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and three other related charges. His court appearance is scheduled for Friday at 9 a.m. The police did not have immediate information about the circumstances that led to Jones’ arrest. According to police sources, the NYPD’s Force Investigation Division is currently investigating the incident.

According to the New York Daily News, the death is also being investigated by the New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation.
