The other two suspects in his murder, Nedvin Maynard Jones Jr. and Nicholas Treyvon King-Sheppard, both 18 years old, were also present.
According to Patterson’s testimony, Michael was unintentionally shot in the back of the head. The teen’s body, according to the detective, was severely charred. His family filed a missing person’s report on January 26. On January 29, Michael’s body was discovered in the 6500 block of Selma Highway.
When the accusations against Jones and King-Sheppard were made public, according to the police, Michael and the suspects were thought to have known one another.
