Mocobizscene-Following a late-night gunshot in Long Beach, a lady is in serious condition and investigators are attempting to put together what happened to cause her injuries. The Long Beach Police Department reported that when police arrived on the scene at around 11:45 p.m. on February 5, they discovered the victim had been shot in the upper torso. The shooting occurred in the 700 block of Chestnut Avenue.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department, who assumed control of the situation after first responding. She is still in critical but stable condition there, and while a thorough investigation is being conducted to determine the shooter’s identity and motive, it looks like she is still at large. A gun was found in the horrific aftermath, suggesting that there had been a violent altercation, but authorities have not yet determined who the perpetrator is or what motivated the attack.
Chestnut Avenue residents and the community at large are left to deal with the anxiety that surrounds the area because the LBPD has not suggested that the shooting was a random act and has not yet provided any descriptions or information about a possible suspect.
Authorities are calling on anyone with information—no matter how tiny—to come forward and help them solve this unsettling criminal activity puzzle.
