Mocobizscene- A man from New Jersey was taken into custody on Monday after authorities conducted an investigation into allegations of stalking and cyber-harassment, according to officials from the prosecutor’s office.
Sarju Patel, a 39-year-old MRI tech from Hudson County, has been charged with stalking, cyber-harassment, and harassment. According to the indictment, detectives conducted a search of Patel’s residence on Jan. 29 with a search warrant as part of a stalking investigation.
The investigation found that Patel is accused of creating social media accounts impersonating the victims, using different names. He reportedly shared photos of them, pretended to visit places associated with the victims and their families online, and even sent letters to one victim’s workplace. These actions caused the victims and their families to feel threatened and fearful, both physically and emotionally.
According to court documents, Patel faced several charges, including fourth-degree stalking, harassment, and a petty disorderly persons offense when he was arrested in Paramus on the same day.
