IMPD: Man fatally shot, seriously injured on near west side

INDIANAPOLIS: Following a shooting on Thursday night on Indianapolis’ near west side that left a man gravely injured, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are looking into the incident.

Following reports of a shooting, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 1000 block of N. Tremont Street at 7:44 p.m.

According to IMPD, when the officers arrived, they discovered an adult male who was wounded by gunshot. After being taken to a nearby hospital, the victim’s condition was last described as critical.

At the location of the shooting, IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives are in charge of the investigation.
