CAMDEN, NJ – In federal court in Camden, Taurean Gordon, a 40-year-old individual hailing from Irvington, New Jersey, pled guilty to offenses pertaining to the unlawful possession of narcotics and firearms. Philip R. Sellinger, the United States attorney, declared the guilty plea.
Gordon, a convicted felon, entered a guilty plea on charges of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine possession with the intent to distribute, as well as firearm possession.
Gordon was apprehended on February 11, 2021, while in possession of narcotics that were packaged for distribution and a loaded revolver.
The narcotics offense is punishable by a $1 million fine and a maximum of twenty years in prison. A felony conviction for firearm possession carries a potential prison sentence of up to ten years, whereas possession of a firearm in the commission of drug trafficking carries a mandatory minimum of five years and carries the risk of life in prison. Additionally, there is a maximum sanction of $250,000 per firearm count. The date of sentencing is May 8.
