Mocobizscene-Superstitious residents of Los Angeles are currently in a state of panic as a 4.1 magnitude earthquake has just struck the city.
At 8:27 AM PT today, the epicenter of the earthquake struck just off the coast of Palos Verdes. However, even people in H’Wood and Pasadena felt some shaking.
The earthquake came to a sudden halt, just like most earthquakes do. However, for those who were still in a deep slumber after a night of partying, it was quite a rude awakening.
In recent times, Southern California has been hit by a series of intense natural events. One such incident involved massive waves crashing over a seawall in Ventura last week. This unexpected occurrence not only caused injuries to eight individuals but also forced dozens of people to evacuate the area.
The extent of the damage caused by our New Year’s tremor is unclear, if any at all. However, the impact pales in comparison to the devastating earthquakes experienced by Japan yesterday.
On New Year’s Eve, the island nation was struck by three powerful earthquakes, with the largest one measuring 7.6 magnitude.
According to Reuters, the government issued tsunami warnings and forced more than 97,000 people to evacuate as roads and bridges suffered significant damage.
In the past few days, there have been numerous earthquakes. It is our hope that the occurrence of these seismic activities decreases for the remainder of the year 2024.
