Paroled Drunk Driver Who Killed Teens Hours After Being Paroled Will Serve Decades In Prison

Mocobizscene-  A man from Texas, who was said to be celebrating his release from prison after serving time for several drunk driving offenses, has been sentenced to fifty years in prison. Tragically, he crashed into a group of teenagers, resulting in the death of two and injuring one.

On Monday, Brazier admitted his guilt to two counts of murder and one count of intoxicated assault with a vehicle. As a result, he received a 50-year prison sentence. Investigators have reported that Brazier had only been out of prison for a few hours, having served time for drunk driving offenses.

According to a statement from the District Attorney’s office, Brazier was released from prison on the same day at 10:30 a.m. after being convicted of driving while intoxicated for the third time. Less than eight hours later, the crash occurred. The statement also revealed that Brazier had returned to Galveston County that morning. A witness who was in Brazier’s vehicle at the time of the accident informed the police that they had visited several bars on Galveston Island throughout the day.

The DA stated that management had removed Brazier from the bar Sharky’s about an hour before the tragic collision. According to officials, Brazier had a blood alcohol content of .217, which is more than twice the legal limit, when the crash occurred. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. as reported by Houston ABC affiliate, KTRK. It happened shortly after they had departed from a volleyball game.

Hannah Jackson, the third teen in the car, miraculously survived the crash but not without sustaining a brain injury. During Brazier’s sentencing on Monday, she made an appearance in the courtroom with the aid of a walker.
