Driver Claims He Hit A Deer, But Cops Found A Dead Body In His Car

NORTH TEXAS: At a press conference on Sunday morning, White Settlement Chief of Police Christopher Cook provided updates on the investigation into a guy who was driving about 40 miles while carrying a dead body in the passenger seat.

“When you’re impaired to this level, where you hit a pedestrian on the roadway and you think it’s an animal, that’s a significant impairment and in all my 28 years I have never really worked a case like this,” Cook stated.

While they’re still piecing together exactly what transpired on Saturday night, authorities are making progress.

In the parking lot of a nearby Jack in the Box restaurant, a concerned bystander reported seeing a driver who looked to be hunched over the driving wheel at approximately 11:00 p.m. The caller also mentioned that the front hood and windshield of the grey Kia Forte were severely damaged. In addition to the driver, who was later declared deceased by emergency medical services, the front passenger seat contained another person when police arrived on the scene.
