Victory Outreach Pomona reported that a church in a Los Angeles community was devastated by an early morning fire just hours before a Christmas toy drive event.
Firefighters responded to the church shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday and swiftly initiated an assertive interior attack upon arrival. However, after approximately 20 minutes, the roof unexpectedly collapsed and the fire intensified, prompting the firefighters to switch to a defensive mode. The Los Angeles County Fire Department shared this information in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Our church building caught fire this morning, resulting in a complete loss. As a result, we will be postponing our service and the scheduled ‘Believe’ play & toy giveaway until further notice. We kindly ask for your prayers for our pastors and church during this difficult time.

An LA-based church was destroyed by an early morning fire just hours before a toy drive event. According to the L.A. County Fire Department, the unfortunate incident took place. The toy giveaway event was rescheduled for Sunday night, even though the church was utterly destroyed.
“We were devastated by the loss of our church, but we refused to let it defeat us. We came together as a community, including our pastors, and collectively decided to carry on with the event. So, we want to extend a warm invitation to all of you,” the church stated in a heartfelt video shared on Facebook.
A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing after an engine fire broke out. Thankfully, the fire was extinguished, ensuring the safety of all passengers on board. One passenger expressed their relief, stating, “I don’t want to go out that way.”
A fire that occurred early Saturday morning in an LA-based church did not deter the Christmas toy drive event from taking place.
In addition, the church mentioned that firefighters who assisted in extinguishing the fire would be present at the event, distributing toys to attendees. The church expressed its commitment to moving forward and remaining a beacon of hope in the city of Pomona and beyond. Their message concluded with an earnest “Amen” and a heartfelt “God Bless.”
