Arrest Made in New Hampshire Avenue Carjacking in D.C., Search Continues for Accomplice

Mocobizscene- In Washington D.C., the authorities have apprehended Perry Lee Jennings, a 36-year-old resident, for his participation in an armed carjacking incident that took place on December 4, 2023, on New Hampshire Avenue.

Upon receiving a distress call at approximately 7:08 p.m., law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene located in the 10200 block of New Hampshire Ave. It was reported that an adult female had been assaulted and had her 2021 Audi Q5 stolen.

Detectives discovered that Jennings was one of the suspects during their investigation. They apprehended him on December 5 and he is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Jennings is being charged with armed carjacking, armed robbery, and assault, and he is being held without bond. Furthermore, he has an outstanding warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service relating to a separate case.

The authorities are still on the lookout for the second suspect, who is identified as a Black male, aged between 16 to 25 years old. He stands at a height of approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches and ranges from 170 to 180 pounds. The suspect has a dark complexion and a slender physique.

During the incident, he was spotted wearing all black attire, including a black ski mask. To encourage the public to come forward with information, Montgomery County Crime Solvers has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for any details that lead to the arrest of the second suspect.
