Penny Kay Clark, 72, was discovered alive in her wrecked car halfway down a cliff in Canyon County, Idaho, four days after she was reported missing. Two hunters, Eddie Hower and Chase Hamilton, found the automobile and quickly used Facebook to determine that Clark was missing. They then notified the police.
The rescue operation involved several agencies, including the sheriff’s office, the Nampa Police Department, and Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue. Clark was sent to a nearby hospital via airlift.
Even with the collision, Clark did not sustain any fractures. With less than 1% of survivorship in such an event, Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue commended the hunters for their assistance in the rescue.
In the wake of the incident, Clark’s family has asked for seclusion. According to her daughter, the most excellent Christmas gift was hearing her mother snoring in a hospital bed. She expressed relief and thankfulness for the gift.
