“I’m feeling great, man. It’s been a challenging four years, that’s for sure. I never imagined I would make it this far,” Malik expressed with a sense of accomplishment. Malik envisions attending graduate and law school to pursue a career in injury and criminal law.
Rickey Smiley, a source of inspiration for his son, received an honorary doctorate from Miles College and Alabama State. The 55-year-old comedian, as reported by News One, had the privilege of delivering the commencement speech for this year’s graduating class. Rickey Smiley fondly reminisced about his time at Miles College, where he performed his first comedy show and formed lasting memories with the college staff.
“It wouldn’t be Rickey Smiley without Miles College,” he concluded his speech. “Graduation is just the beginning…now we have to go out there and make it happen.”
In Fairfield, Alabama, Miles College is a distinguished private liberal arts college. The institution boasts an impressive roster of notable alumni, including Judge U.W. Clemon, Birmingham’s pioneering black mayor, Richard Arrington Jr., and the esteemed Dr. Rickey Smiley.
