A 2-year-old girl from Virginia, who was believed to be in “extreme danger” after being abducted by her estranged father on Saturday morning, has been found safe in North Carolina, according to Virginia Beach Police.
Police have confirmed that Zuri Dorsey, who had been reported missing, was found safe outside Charlotte, North Carolina. Her father, Deandre Dorsey, 27, is now in custody.Zuri was snuggled up in her cozy bed at her residence on Sapphire Drive in the 1300 block when, according to the authorities, Deandre Alante Dorsey seized the child at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday.
Officials with Virginia State Police have expressed grave concerns about the safety of the child, stating that they believe the child is in extreme danger.
Zuri’s sudden disappearance triggered an Amber Alert.
According to the police, the two individuals might be traveling in a red 2016 Honda Accord with North Carolina license plate number RAZ9972.
Authorities suspected that Dorsey was making his way towards Lewiston Woodville, North Carolina. Officials have stated that Dorsey, who has outstanding warrants in Virginia Beach, is currently being sought. It is uncertain whether he has his medication as he suffers from diabetes.
