Mid-City New Orleans Suspect Barricaded, Swat Roll Declared

The Mid-City area of New Orleans was the site of a SWAT roll on Wednesday, December 6th, as declared by the New Orleans Police Department. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) reported that there was a suspect who was wanted and had barricaded themselves inside the Falstaff apartments at the intersection of South Dorgenois and Gravier streets.

The Violent Offender Squad was attempting to execute an outstanding warrant on the male suspect believed to be involved in a recent home invasion. The suspect, according to the NOPD, declined to surrender and armed themselves inside the apartment. The building management advised other residents to remain indoors for their safety.

According to the NOPD officials, the suspect willingly turned himself in to the police at approximately 3:56 p.m. He was then taken to a hospital for the necessary medical attention due to minor injuries.

After receiving medical care, authorities anticipate that the suspect will be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center. There were no additional injuries reported.
