A single-vehicle collision on Monday evening claimed the life of a 35-year-old man from Prattville. According to an email from Montgomery Police Department Maj. Saba Coleman, Joshua Cortezie was declared dead at the scene of the car crash by first responders.
The crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. near Hitching Post Lane on Eastern Boulevard, according to Coleman. Emergency responders from the police and fire departments swiftly arrived at the scene. The driver, a woman operating a 2006 Chevy HHR LT, was involved in the accident. Unfortunately, she sustained life-threatening injuries. Tragically, her passenger, Cortezie, did not survive the crash, as stated by Coleman.
According to an email from Coleman, the police department is currently conducting an investigation into the collision and has decided not to disclose any further details at this moment.
