19-Year-Old Suspect Arrested Made In The Fatal Stabbing Of New Jersey Football Player On Thanksgiving

A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody following the tragic death of a 17-year-old student from New Jersey. The incident occurred on Thanksgiving morning outside a club in New York City, where the victim was fatally stabbed. Rocco Rodden, a talented 17-year-old football player, attended St. Joseph’s Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey.

According to those who knew him well, he was considered a promising individual with boundless potential. However, all those aspirations and ambitions were abruptly cut short when he lost his life in a fatal stabbing incident involving another teenager.

“It is absolutely devastating for parents to have to bury their own children; it is an unimaginable tragedy,” expressed Rocco’s father, Douglas Rodden.

Rocco’s close-knit family was left stunned by the incident that occurred in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving.

“The family is shattered, both internally and externally,” expressed Douglas Rodden.

Rocco, along with his brother and sister, was at a club in Lower Manhattan when witnesses reported several altercations involving teenagers.

Rocco sustained a stab wound to his torso, while his brother endured multiple stab wounds that required 50 stitches. Tragically, Rocco succumbed to his injuries a few hours later, sparking an overwhelming wave of grief and sorrow.

According to Douglas Rodden, he described the individual as a genuine warrior who tragically lost his life while bravely protecting one of his companions. A 19-year-old suspect named Gianluca Bordone from Oyster Bay, New York, was arrested by the police in connection with this incident. He is currently being charged with murder.

Douglas Rodden fondly remembers his son as a truly unique individual. To him, his son was like the eye of the tiger, shining brightly even in the darkest of rooms. He was the life of every party, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went.

Rocco, a junior and a member of the offensive line for the high school football team, received a note from the school’s principal that was sent to all families.

“We offer our heartfelt sympathies to Rocco’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. During this time, let us find solace in one another as we honor and commemorate the life of a cherished individual from our St. Joseph Regional High School community,” expressed the statement.
